Phoenix, Durban – A tragic drive-by shooting in a bustling residential complex in Phoenix yesterday evening left one person dead and another critically injured. The incident took place near the local police station, prompting a rapid response from emergency services.
KZN VIP members managed the scene of the shooting. Initial reports indicated that two Indian males had been shot multiple times. Despite the efforts of KZN VIP medics, one victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second individual, who also sustained multiple gunshot wounds, was transported privately to a medical facility for urgent treatment. Numerous spent rifle cartridges were discovered scattered across the roadway, highlighting the severity of the attack.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting remained unclear. The South African Police Service (SAPS) and other emergency services were present and conducted a thorough investigation.
Authorities urged community members to allow law enforcement to perform their duties without interference. There were reports of individuals attempting to take videos and photos, as well as tampering with evidence at the scene.
