Julius Malema Pledges Unwavering Support to EFF Despite Floyd Shivambu’s Departure

In a heartfelt declaration, Julius Malema, the leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), has pledged unwavering loyalty to his party following the resignation of his deputy president, Floyd Shivambu. Malema’s commitment to the EFF remains steadfast, even as Shivambu embarks on a new political journey.

A Solemn Farewell

During a farewell gathering at the EFF’s headquarters, Winnie Madikizela Mandela House in Johannesburg, Malema expressed his deep sense of loss over Shivambu’s departure. Despite the emotional weight of the moment, Malema made it clear that his dedication to the EFF is unshakeable.

“My coffin will be draped with the flag of the EFF. Even if I remain alone, I will do so,” Malema vowed, underscoring his lifelong commitment to the party.

Shivambu’s New Path

Shivambu, who has been a pivotal figure in the EFF since its inception, announced his resignation and subsequent move to the newly formed MK Party. His decision marks a significant shift in the political landscape, as he has been a close ally and confidant of Malema.

“To me, he is not just a comrade; he is a brother, and he will remain a brother even when he pursues his political career differently,” Malema said, highlighting the personal bond they share.

Open Door Policy

In a surprising move, Malema extended an olive branch to Shivambu, stating that he would welcome him back to the EFF if he ever chose to return. This gesture goes against the party’s constitution, which typically does not allow members to rejoin after leaving for another political party.

“The constitution of the EFF does not allow people to resign and join other political parties, and come back to the party. But I have made this offer to Shivambu that the day you decide to come back, you are more than welcome,” Malema announced.

Looking Ahead

Despite the departure of his deputy, Malema remains focused on the future of the EFF. He assured members that the position of deputy president would remain vacant until the party’s conference in December, where a new leader will be elected.

Malema’s vow of loyalty comes at a crucial time for the EFF, as the party navigates the challenges of maintaining unity and momentum in the face of internal changes. His commitment serves as a rallying cry for members to stay united and continue working towards the party’s goals.

A Legacy of Loyalty

Julius Malema’s promise to remain with the EFF until the end reflects his deep-rooted belief in the party’s mission and values. As the EFF moves forward, Malema’s leadership and unwavering dedication will undoubtedly play a pivotal role in shaping its future.

In the ever-evolving landscape of South African politics, Malema’s steadfast loyalty to the EFF stands as a testament to his enduring commitment to the cause he has championed for years.
